Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid is the Brand's first plug-in hybrid model. It is the initial model in its low-emission vehicle offensive, which will lead in 2025 to a 100% electrified range.
Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid combines all the advantages of a 100% electric drive for daily trips with the versatility and range provided by its petrol engine for longer journeys. Already a benchmark for comfort, C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid enhances the Citroën Advanced Comfort® programme with the strengths of an electric motor, namely near silent operation, a seamless, jolt-free drive and instant performance. With CO2 emissions from just 32g/km (WLTP test cycle), Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid stands apart with its efficient engine offering.
Battery charging is accelerated using a 32A Wall Box, taking less than 2 hours with the optional 7.4 kW charger. Charging can be programmed and deferred, to benefit from more reasonable off-peak electricity tariffs. Customers programme the vehicle charge using the touchscreen in the cabin or their smartphone via the MyCitroën app. The charging cables are stored in a dedicated space under the boot floor. The charging flap located on the rear left-hand side of the car, integrates a LED indicator for visually monitoring the process: a white light for welcome mode, a flashing green light for charge under way, a blue light for deferred charging, and a green light once the charge is complete. Charging really is that simple!
Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid can be specified with touches of blue (on the front bumper insert and the Airbumps®). On the left-hand side of the tailgate, the “Hybrid” badge denotes the new Plug-in Hybrid drivetrain. Stylised “H” logos also feature on the two front wings.
Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid keeps all of its powerful, robust and energetic personality: a true SUV with a strong character. With a wide front end, raised bonnet, strong visuals such as the Airbumps® featuring a coloured insert, a choice of 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels, ground clearance of 230 mm, under-body and wheel-arch protection, stylish two-tone roof bars, and an optional panoramic opening glass roof on Flair Plus versions.
The cabin of C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid is equipped with specific features to monitor Plug-in Hybrid driving:
- a personalized 12.3'' digital instrument panel displaying hybrid-related information (powermeter, electricity and fuel gauges, range, energy flow diagram). When the vehicle is charging, the instrument panel displays the remaining charging time, range and recovered battery charge, as well as charging speed.
- an 8'' capacitive touchscreen, giving access to the energy flow monitoring, consumption statistics, as well as the e-save function.
- a modes selector, to choose your driving experience:
. ELECTRIC, for quiet smoothness
. HYBRID, for versatility and efficiency
. SPORT, for dynamism
- An interior electrochromic frameless rear view mirror indicates the 100% electric mode: a blue indicator activates, confirming full-EV mode.
This facilitates access to restricted traffic zones in cities.
In 100% electric mode (ZEV), acoustic comfort is improved and the hushed cabin tone on board C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid is untroubled by vibrations. The “cocoon” effect is further enhanced by acoustic laminated front windows; passengers are comfortably protected from exterior noises.
C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid keeps its suspension system with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions® that filters and absorbs road obstacles and irregularities, giving occupants the impression of flying over the road, while ensuring outstanding poise and dynamism. In a feature specific to the hybrid version, C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid is equipped with a multi-link rear axle for unshakeable balance.
Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid features wide seat bases and backs. Combining high-density foam inside and 15 mm-thick textured foam on the surface, they guarantee comfort, softness and support at all times.
C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid keeps all of its strengths in terms of modularity, with its three individual seats in the rear:
- sliding over a distance of 150 mm, for adjusting cabin space or boot volume
- tilting, offering five different positions.
- folding down to form a completely flat surface, made possible by the articulated boot floor.
With its 33 l interior storage and its outstanding boot volume of 460 to 600 l, C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid will adapt to all situations.

C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid comes with MirrorScreen®, which offers the extended in-car connectivity of Apple Carplay and Android Auto, for relaxed and sociable travel.
Citroën Connect Nav, displays real-time traffic information and danger areas. Specially adapted to the electrification of the vehicle, the system notably indicates electric charging zones and displays the range covered in all-electric mode according to the battery charge level, helping motorists to better manage vehicle range in full-electric mode.
Programme the immediate charging of your C5 Aircross Hybrid SUV remotely from your smartphone, using the MyCitroën app. You can see the battery charge level, remaining battery life, charging speed and remaining charging time. You can also programme the charging process to start at a different time, for example during off-peak electricity tariff hours.

Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid combines a PureTech 180 S&S petrol engine (1.6 l and 180 hp) with an 80 kW electric motor fitted between the internal-combustion engine and the gearbox. The electric motor is equipped with a high-voltage 200V 13.2 kWh lithium ion battery. Combined CO2 emissions are 32 g/km (WLTP test cycle). C5 Aircross SUV Hybrid can operate in electric mode up to speeds of 83 mph (where permitted) with a full electric range of 34 miles (WLTP test cycle).
The EAT8 gearbox has been upgraded, with optimised gear shifting that further improves driving flexibility and pleasure as well as an enhanced regenerative “Brake” mode, to charge the battery immediately.
