- Bloom judges awarded the Citroën Power of One Climate Positive Show Garden a gold medal and best in category medium garden.
- The show garden encourages the “Power of One”, a person’s choices impacting pollution and positively contributing to the environment.
- The award-winning garden will remain on display in Bord Bia Bloom until the 5th of June.
Today, at the Bord Bia Bloom Festival 2023, the Bloom judges awarded the Citroën Power of One Climate Positive Show Garden, designed by Nicola Haines, a gold medal and best in category medium garden fending off stiff competition.
The garden, which features many subtle hints to Citroën's history of innovation, encourages the "Power of One" - how one garden and better choice of car has the power to tackle the effects of pollution and positively contribute to the environment. Collection of rainwater, planting close to the street to absorb pollution, a vast number of reclaimed materials and a sedum roof to provide food for pollinators and better air quality contributed to the garden’s awards.
Speaking today, Trevor Hunt, Head of Marketing at Citroën Ireland mentioned "We are delighted that the Citroën Power of One Show Garden has been awarded a gold medal and best in category medium garden. We would like to thank Nicola Haines for her hard work and dedication to make this incredible garden come to life. We hope this is a message of how the power of one person can change how we manage our pollution."
Nicola Haines, Garden Designer of the Citroën Power of One Show Garden added "It was a pleasure to work with Citroën on this garden, it was amazing to receive both awards. We are incredibly proud of the garden so if you're at Bloom this weekend, please do drop by.
The award-winning garden will remain on display until Monday the 5th of June. The garden will then be repurposed at Citroën's head office in Citywest.
