CITROËN C4 WINS IRISH MEDIUM CAR OF THE YEAR 2022
FEBRUARY 11th, 2022: Citroën’s New C4 Crossover has won the Continental Tyres Irish Medium Car of the Year award for 2022, voted for by thirty-five of the country’s top motoring journalists representing the Irish Motoring Writers Association (IMWA) and the Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP). The presentation, which took place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin earlier today, saw the third generation C4 take the prestigious award after beating off stiff competition from the likes of the Volkswagen Caddy passenger, Cupra Leon, DS 3 and MG 5. Since launching in Ireland last summer, the C4 has consistently been one of Citroën’s top selling vehicles as the brand looks to grow market share further on the back of this award.
When the Citroën C4 was launched to the Irish Motoring media in August of last year the vehicle achieved widespread acclaim for its unique styling, impressive standard features, practicality and comfort. The Citroën C4 sits in the popular C-Hatchback segment but offers much more than the traditional hatchback thanks to best-in-class height, ground clearance, seat position and interior legroom versus competitors. With similar dimensions to some SUV competitors, the C4 was hailed at the time for reinventing the hatchback segment by achieving true crossover claim. Fast forward just 6 months and this vehicle has now been awarded Continental Tyres Irish Medium Car of the Year Award for 2022. In this time, the C4 has established itself as one of the brands key models and with almost 200 vehicles sold already this year, it is no wonder that the C4 has become Citroën’s bestselling passenger car.

Speaking today, Colin Sheridan MD of Citroën Ireland commented “Since its launch, the New C4 has bolstered our passenger car range by removing the need for compromise. Not only does the New C4 give us access to both the hatchback and SUV segments but the car itself strikes a remarkable balance with real style, immense comfort and a wide array of safety features coupled with new and innovative technology. As the C4 is available in petrol, diesel and fully electric we are seeing interest from all corners of the country. It comes as no surprise to me that the C4 was voted Irish Medium Car of the year 2022 and I look forward to many more years of strong sales with this vehicle as we seek to grow our market share here in Ireland.”
In terms of specification, the C4 is available with a choice of four grades; Feel, Feel Pack, Flair and Flair Pack. The Citroën C4 is available from €26,080 or just €241 per month with 1.9% PCP finance. For more information see citroen.ie
