It is illegal in Ireland to make phone calls using a hand-held device whilst driving. It means you could be issued with an on the spot fine and points on your licence if you get caught using a mobile phone in the car. However mobile phone technology has evolved to now cover in-car Bluetooth or Bluetooth car phones. It allows for wireless communication between your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone and your Citroën. Bluetooth has revolutionised communication on the go; now you’re never more than a phone call away from friends, family and colleagues when you’re in the car. With in-car Bluetooth it means you can safely call your contacts in your phone; hands-free.
How do I get Bluetooth into my Citroën?
There are a range of standard Bluetooth® devices; either headsets or dash mounted kits, that are compatible with your Citroën Bluetooth compatibility is dependent partly on the software that your mobile phone uses, and on the software of the equipment in your Citroën. Contact your local Citroën dealer to find out which kit is best for your phone.
Remember that in-car Bluetooth hands-free connectivity helps to reduce the risk of accidents, but telephoning whilst driving poses real risks. For your safety, Citroën advises that you stop your vehicle to make calls when traffic conditions permit.
