Economical engines

Citroën is an industry leader in environmental technology – and there’s no better proof of this than the CO2 emissions from the new-generation petrol VTi and diesel HDi engines.

- The diesel engines emit less than 118g/km
- The petrol engines emit between 127g/km and 139g/km (except for the 1.6 VTi 120hp with an automatic gearbox).

Particulate filter*

Some HDi engines on the Citroën C3 are fitted with a particulate filter (DPFS), which traps and burns the particles produced by the engine. This makes the already very low particulate emissions drop to levels so low they can barely be measured.

Low weight*

Despite its many upgrades in terms of quality and space, the Citroën C3 isn’t any heavier. Our extensive research on weight control has paid off – and controlled weight and optimised aerodynamics mean that the Citroën C3 is as fuel-efficient as it can be.
