Outstanding crash-test results make the Citroën C4 Picasso a benchmark for safety. You and your passengers couldn’t be in safer hands. The front end takes the force of any impact and allows the car to have slim front pillars. Reinforced front doors make the whole body stiffer. The cabin is designed to stay intact in a collision.

With six airbags, the Citroën C4 Picasso helps keep you and your passengers safe and sound. It has two at the front, two at the side and two in the roof. The steering column also retracts if there’s an impact from the front.

The Citroën C4 Picasso has an innovative and comprehensive braking system. There are four large vented disc brakes.

- An ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) function adjusts braking pressure electronically to stop the wheels locking.
- Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) spreads braking power evenly to all four wheels.
- Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA) boosts braking power instantly when the driver brakes hard.
- Electronic Stability Program (ESP) keeps the car stable if it slips when cornering.
- A traction control system immediately brakes the drive wheels in a skid.

All Citroën C4 Picasso are inherently safe, thanks to their sophisticated suspension design, but the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) adds a further level of security. By monitoring progress through a bend, it senses whether oversteer or understeer is developing, modifying engine torque and applying a precise measure of braking for ultimate stability and control.

Unique to Citroën, Intelligent Traction Control (ITC) provides grip on slippery surfaces to help the car travel through snow, black ice and rain. ITC analyses factors such as the slope of the road and the type of snow or ice to adjust the slippage of the right and left wheels separately.

Your smallest passengers are safe and secure in the Citroën C4 Picasso:
-There are anchorage points for fitting three Isofix child seats in row 2.
-A optional child-surveillance mirror helps you keep an eye on the kids without turning round.
-Electric safety locks for the rear doors are within easy reach of the driver. -Warning lights and sounds let you know if seatbelts are undone in row 2.
